In just one sentence, what is your accelerator called and what do you do?

The Telluride Venture Accelerator is a 5-month mentor driven program focused on innovative growth companies in the outdoor rec, tourism, natural products, health, energy, water and education space incubating ventures in one of the world’s most outstanding settings.

What makes your program different or unique? And related, what’s your primary value-add?

We have engaged a truly unique group of mentors and investors that come to Telluride to enjoy its beauty and outdoor activities. People take the time to pause from their busy lives and truly engage with TVA companies. Investors show up and write checks -- approximately $4m in early stage capital for first 10 companies!

What do you love the most about working with startups?

Entrepreneurs exude energy that is infectious. We love providing an excitement in the community that everyone can get behind.

What is the hardest or most surprising part of working with startups?

Life happens. Everyone says a start-up takes 200%, but sometimes that overwhelms even the hardiest entrepreneurs.

Do you have a success story to share? Who are the most notable or interesting companies to go through your program?

3 companies closed their seed rounds essentially within one month of Demo Day --, Awestruck Dental and Fresh Monster -- raising up to $700k when just 6 months before, their ideas were barely baked.

How, if in any way, has Foundersuite helped your company?

Finally, what is your best tip for running a startup?

Be persistent. It always takes longer and you are never really done!
