"Ask Me Anything" with Gil Penchina at Startup Funding 2.0
We were privileged to have Gil Penchina at our second Startup Funding 2.0 event held at WeWork.
Gil runs the largest Syndicate on AngelList and is an angel investor in 70 companies including firms such as Linkedin, Paypal, Datanyze, Contactually, Indiegogo, Evite, ZipRealty, Plusmo, Couchsurfing, Songpop, Wealthfront and many others.
Previously he was CEO of Wikia, now a top 50 website and a member of the pre-IPO team at eBay. Before eBay, Gil worked at General Electric, Bain & Co. and started two tech companies.
Watch as Gil discusses: his various Syndicates, the emergence of deal scouts, how to access a Syndicate, average check size, meeting with Associates at VC funds, founders as "fundamentally un-employable anywhere else", what he looks for in a deal, when to take the leap of faith as an entrepreneur, how "running a startup is like a Ponzi scheme" and more.
